Gelenau is a German village close to Chemnitz in the rural area of the Erzgebirge, which is located in the eastern federal state of Saxony. 

The documentary is a sensitive observation of refugees living in Gelenau. The film aims to record the current situation of immigration by representing five individual cases. Those five humans are either new in the village or living already there for a long time. The four men and one women speak exemplarily for the thousands of people who escape because of war or because they have not the luck to be born in an economically strong society with social securities. 

But still they are people with goals in life like everyone else. The only difference is the need to get a life back.
